About the OpportunityThe Shire of Capel is on the lookout for a full-time Engineering Coordinator based in Capel, WA. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the Engineering Services team, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality engineering outcomes while reporting directly to the Manager of Engineering & Works.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing expert technical guidance and managing the development and execution of strategies for municipal infrastructure and capital works projects.
- Overseeing infrastructure maintenance programs, ensuring funding, quality control, and adherence to relevant standards.
- Managing contract procurement, contractor performance, and compliance for infrastructure initiatives.
- Engaging with stakeholders to guarantee successful project management, strategic direction, and robust relationships.
- Assisting the Manager of Engineering & Works in decision-making and engineering-related matters.
- Leading continuous improvement efforts and the formulation of policies, procedures, and technical documentation for Engineering Services.
To be successful in this role, you will need substantial experience in local government, particularly in civil engineering or a related field, with a focus on infrastructure projects and capital works. The following qualifications and skills will be highly regarded:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience in civil construction.
- Strong understanding of local government regulations and Australian standards.
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, CivilCAD).
- Advanced Worksite Traffic Management accreditation.
- Expertise in engineering project management.
- Experience in contract management, procurement, and contractor relations.
- Knowledge of asset management and infrastructure planning.

About the BenefitsCompensation based on skills and experience includes a competitive annual salary of $95,000 - $100,000, along with a variety of excellent benefits, including:
