Childcare Educator Job Description

The role of a Childcare Educator is to create a safe and nurturing environment for children in Outside School Hours Care. This involves assisting in the delivery of daily activities, supervising and supporting children, preparing and serving healthy food options, and building positive relationships with colleagues, children, families, and the school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Activity Planning: Delivering daily quality activities that are safe, fun, stimulating, and carry educational value.
  • Child Supervision: Supervising and supporting children during after-school care and holiday periods.
  • Catering: Preparing and serving healthy food options to meet the nutritional needs of children.
  • Environment Creation: Creating an engaging and happy environment for children through play, teaching, and other activities.
  • Relationship Building: Building strong relationships with colleagues, children, families, and the school community.
Requirements:
  • Certification: Certificate III or higher in Children's Services, Early Childhood, School Aged Care (or studying towards) or equivalent.
  • Clearance: Working With Children Check (willing to obtain).
  • First Aid: HLTAID012 First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Management Training (or willing to obtain).
  • Training: Child Protection Training Certificate.
  • Availability: Available to work Monday to Friday.
