Emergency Veterinary Nursing Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled veterinary nurse to join our emergency department team.

About the Role
  • Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill and injured animals in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • Triage and assess patients to determine the level of urgency and appropriate interventions.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Communicate with pet owners regarding their pet's condition, treatment plans, and prognosis.
  • Assist in medical procedures, including wound care, fluid therapy, and administration of medications.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Stay current with advancements in emergency and critical care medicine through ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Cert IV qualified nurse or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in emergency and critical care nursing.
  • Proficiency in IV catheter placement, blood sample collection, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Familiarity with advanced monitoring equipment is advantageous.
  • Ability to work well and adapt quickly to challenges in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and compassionately to pet owners.
