Position Overview

The role serves as the main liaison for clients concerning financial management services. The objective is to cultivate and sustain robust client relationships to secure new business avenues and guarantee client contentment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage extensive expertise in the data center industry or equivalent to deliver expert financial guidance and innovative solutions. Ensure all financial estimates are precise and thorough, reflecting prevailing market conditions and technological advancements.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the financial management team, coordinating efforts to produce comprehensive financial plans, estimates, and reports. Ensure that the team's output aligns with overall project goals and timelines.
  • Develop detailed financial plans and budgets at all project stages, from initial feasibility through to completion. Implement effective financial control measures to monitor actual expenditures against budget, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Identify and evaluate financial risks and devise strategies to mitigate these risks. Regularly review and update risk registers and ensure that suitable contingencies are in place.
  • Lead value engineering initiatives to uncover cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or performance. Collaborate with design teams to enhance cost efficiency and practicality.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients on all financial matters. Provide clear and concise updates on financial status, forecasts, and potential issues. Foster strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and project success.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all financial estimates and reports.
  • Collaborate with project managers, design teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of financial management into the overall project plan. Facilitate effective communication and coordination among all parties.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including budget updates, financial forecasts, and variance analyses, to project stakeholders and senior management. Ensure all financial documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.
  • Mentor and develop junior financial managers and other team members, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their professional skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee and prepare detailed financial estimates and budgets for all components of construction projects. Ensure all financial plans are robust, realistic, and align with project objectives.
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Ensure that all risk management processes are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial estimates. Conduct regular reviews and audits to maintain high standards of financial management practices.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of financial management into overall project plans. Facilitate communication and collaboration across different disciplines.
Qualifications
  • Recognized bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS, AIQS) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
  • Experience in MEP financial management highly desirable.
  • Data center, large mission-critical projects or equivalent experience is a must.
  • Proficiency in financial estimation software such as CostX, or similar. Strong understanding of first principle estimating techniques and current market rates for CSA and MEP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret complex design documents and translate them into accurate financial estimates.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present financial data clearly and concisely to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Demonstrates a proactive approach and takes initiative in driving projects forward.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring that all financial estimates are precise and comprehensive.
  • Committed to understanding and meeting the needs of clients. Builds strong relationships and delivers excellent customer service.
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all professional interactions. Ensures transparency and honesty in financial management practices.
