Arboricurist

Key Responsibilities for the Arborist Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all works are carried out effectively and safely.

• Identify structural defects of trees during the normal course of duties.
• Operate a range of equipment, including tipper trucks, stump grinders, woodchippers, chainsaws, and EWP's.
• Prune, deadwood, pollard trees using full safety and climbing equipment.
• Removal of roots and stumps by various methods.
• Treat tree stumps with approved herbicides.
• Fell trees of all sizes in a safe and controlled manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Relevant qualifications.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in arboriculture.
• Knowledge of horticulture methods and materials, landscaping and cultivation of trees and woody plants.
• Ability to identify and deal with hazardous and problem trees.
• Records maintenance skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Knowledge of horticultural practices, plant taxonomy, and insect/disease control.
