About the Role

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of General Manager of Airworthiness and Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading aeromedical organization and contribute to the delivery of high-quality health care services to remote and rural communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of highly skilled professionals in ensuring the highest safety and regulatory standards are met for all aircraft operated by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
  • Work closely with the Health teams to support the delivery of improved health outcomes to the communities we serve.
  • Develop and implement effective airworthiness and engineering strategies to drive business outcomes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other leaders and teams across the business to deliver on the Royal Flying Doctor Service's business strategy and commitment to the communities we serve.
Requirements
  • Current or previous regulatory approval as Head of Aircraft Airworthiness and Maintenance Control (HAAMC) or an approved Continuing Airworthiness Manager.
  • Aircraft engineer licence (B1, B2 or C) or qualification in one of the following fields: Cert IV in aircraft maintenance, diploma in aviation maintenance management, diploma in engineering (aeronautical, avionics, mechanical, electrical, electronics).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CASA regulations and standards applicable to continuing airworthiness and aircraft maintenance.
  • Capability to develop Continuing Airworthiness and Maintenance Organisation expositions.
  • Skilled in the preparation and presentation of budgets and reports.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer-based maintenance systems.
  • Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in a managerial position.
