Job Title: Science Research AssociateAbout the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Science Research Associate to join our team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of a supervisor to conduct laboratory research and assist researchers and collaborators in planning and conducting research on vertebrate pests.

You will be responsible for managing your own work priorities and assisting colleagues with pest animal research activities, including trapping and handling of pest animals and monitoring of pest animal populations using cameras and other techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory research and assist with fieldwork as required
  • Assist researchers and collaborators in planning and conducting research on vertebrate pests
  • Manage your own work priorities and assist colleagues with assigned tasks
  • Liaise with project staff and collaborators to complete research activities
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of scientific practices within the work unit
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree in a biological science or related field
  • Experience in laboratory research and/or fieldwork
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work safely in remote areas for extended periods
