Academic Mentor Position

To support the academic journey of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, we are seeking a skilled Academic Mentor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored academic assistance to students studying STEPS, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses across various disciplines.
  • Mentor students and guide their academic success in an inclusive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies, and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

For this position, we require a completed qualification at the level at which you are tutoring, i.e., a minimum bachelor's degree to tutor students studying within a Bachelor level course. Additionally, you must currently hold or be eligible to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Positive Notice) to comply with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 for regulated employment in education and care services.
