Job Title: Aquatics Manager

About the Role

The Aquatics Manager is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of the Aquatics division. This role oversees the maintenance of service and operational excellence, reporting to the Facility Manager.

The successful candidate will have a passion for water safety and be invested in making a positive contribution to the aquatics industry. They will manage staff, patrons, stakeholders, and equipment within the aquatic area of the facility.

This role is a leader in the space and has opportunities to develop and grow the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate all aspects of the Aquatic environment to ensure they are maintained to a safe and operational standard.
  • Ensure facilities are adequately staffed in accordance with RLSS Guidelines, SOPs, and other relevant regulations.
  • Support the delivery of Aquatics Programs alongside the Facility Manager and Swim School Facility Coordinator.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain a strong team of Duty Managers to ensure the facility has adequate onsite support outside of normal business hours.
  • Review and champion Viva Aquatic Policy and Procedure as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who has:

  • Previous experience in Aquatic Duty Manager or higher duties.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
  • Experience in effectively managing priorities for themselves and other staff.
  • Certifications such as Current Pool Lifeguard License, CPR & First Aid, WWVPRLSSA Workplace Supervisor - Technical Operations.
