Our client, a specialist environmental consultancy, is renowned for providing expertise in all areas of ecological assessment and management. With a diverse portfolio of services catering to both private and public sector clients, they excel in conducting thorough ecological surveys and reporting for Species and Environmental Impact Statements, flora and fauna assessments, development applications, and bushland management plans.

This role offers the opportunity to work in an environment that leads ecological field investigations, creates comprehensive reports, and undertakes impact assessments. As a Senior Ecology Expert, you will oversee others, leverage your established contacts and networks for business development, and contribute to marketing activities.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree-qualified ecologist with over five years of experience, preferably within a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated botanical identification skills in previous roles.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Decisive project management skills.
  • 5+ years of BioBanking Accreditation.

Role Responsibilities:

You will perform tasks related to ecological assessment, natural resource management, environmental impact assessment, permitting, and approval processes. Additionally, you will provide project ecological management advice and oversight concerning ecological legislation, considering factors such as vegetation, surface water, and groundwater impacts.

Oversight of construction activities, including on-site roles like ecological site inspections, will also be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to develop and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, government stakeholders, and private entities. Furthermore, you will manage and deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and national averages for similar positions in the environmental consulting sector.
