This opportunity is perfect for a seasoned engineer who can deliver cutting-edge solutions for geo-environmental challenges, integrating waste management into broader infrastructure projects.

The Role

  • Lead and deliver projects focused on:
  1. Waste management, including landfill design, engineered containment systems, geosynthetic applications, and resource recovery solutions
  2. Water infrastructure, including dam engineering, earth structures, and repair works, and wastewater management ponds
  3. Mining, including tailings management facilities and complex liner systems
  4. Ground engineering, including slope stabilization and rehabilitation
  • Develop innovative strategies for geo-environmental challenges, integrating waste management into broader infrastructure projects
  • Prepare and review technical documentation for waste-related projects across planning, design, and execution phases
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in the waste and geo-environmental sectors, supporting both project delivery and business development initiatives
  • Ensure technical excellence in waste and geo-environmental engineering, overseeing quality and risk management
  • Undertake project management to deliver desired outcomes for key clients with a focus on repeat business
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment and sharing expertise in waste management and geo-environmental engineering
  • Support operational management by contributing to strategies that drive business growth in waste and environmental services

About You

You will likely have a tertiary qualification in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering combined with more than 7 years of industry experience.

You will also bring:

  • Significant experience in waste and geo-environmental engineering
  • Strong expertise in waste management, including landfill design, leachate systems, geosynthetics, and resource recovery
  • Expertise addressing subsurface environmental risks, embankments, earthworks, and surface water management
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in effectively engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leading and integrating into multidisciplinary projects
  • A highly motivated, innovative mindset with a commitment to sustainability and technical excellence
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and mentoring skills to support the development of junior, intermediate, and senior engineers
