Acute Care Specialist in Home Health

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate medical professional to join our multidisciplinary team as an Acute Care Specialist in Home Health.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who thrives in complex healthcare environments, with a strong focus on leadership, clinical excellence, and delivering innovative patient-centred care.

  • About the Role:
  • In this role, you will work collaboratively with emergency departments, acute and sub-acute services, community providers, and virtual care platforms to deliver acute, inpatient-equivalent care to patients within their homes or preferred non-hospital settings.
  • You will manage patients requiring rapid, time-limited interventions, supporting hospital avoidance strategies and ensuring patients receive the right care in the right place.
  • As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to direct patient care, clinical teaching, continuous quality improvement, and the development of innovative community-based service models.

About You:

  • You hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • You bring a strong foundation of clinical and leadership expertise, with excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational skills.
  • You demonstrate proven ability to lead change, foster collaboration, and drive improvements in patient safety, quality, and clinical risk management.

  • The Central Adelaide Local Health Network includes South's Australia's major quaternary facility, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, and the Repat Health Precinct.
