Team Lead Body Repair

This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can oversee the daily maintenance and repair of a fleet of vehicles.
We are seeking a skilled team leader to join our workshop staff in maintaining our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles to the highest standard. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing repairs, overseeing major repair programs, conducting functional checks, providing on-the-job instruction, and developing the skills of the workshop team.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Performing repairs on buses and other maintenance activities as required
- Overseeing major repair programs, including testing, fault finding, and quality assurance
- Conducting functional checks to ensure components are operational and vehicles are fit for service
- Providing on-the-job instruction, training, and coaching to staff for maintenance work, inventory requirements, and record documentation
- Developing the skills of the workshop team to maximise results
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years working as a Heavy Vehicle Body Builder/Panel Beater
- Mentoring apprentices to learn their trade and playing a critical role in their growth within the team
- Able to ensure adherence and understanding to WHS regulations and relevant company policies
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
- Apply a proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
- Be physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role
