About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Merchandise Manager to join our team at Nutrien Ag Solutions. As a key member of our merchandise team, you will be responsible for managing sales and inventory of a range of products and services, including ag chem, fertiliser, and other agricultural merchandise products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Sales and Inventory: Oversee the sales and inventory of a range of products and services, including ag chem, fertiliser, and other agricultural merchandise products.
  • Build Partnerships: Build long-lasting partnerships with customers and deliver appropriate advice and services using your specialist knowledge of a variety of agricultural products and supplies.
  • Provide Merchandise Support: Work closely with store management, agronomists, and sales teams to provide merchandise support such as stock takes, retail operations improvements, on-farm meetings, technical information, and mentoring to encourage improved performance.
  • Manage Branch Budgets: Have input to branch budgets and manage the branch P&L.
  • Negotiate with Suppliers: Negotiate with suppliers and develop pricing strategies to maintain the business's competitive position for all lines.
  • Analyse Market Trends: Analyse market trends, climatic, and seasonal considerations to ensure Nutrien Ag Solutions is the first choice for rural customers in the region.
Requirements
  • Experience in Pricing and Margin Management: Experience within pricing and margin management and sales target achievement through effective category development.
  • Networking and Business Development: The ability to network and identify opportunities for business development will be key to your success.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to foster solid long-term relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Technical Skills: Ideally, you will have exposure to SAP ERP, together with strong MS Excel for reporting.
  • Licenses: Forklift license required, and heavy rigid license will be highly advantageous.
