Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our team in a dynamic and challenging role. As a solicitor, you will provide high-level legal advice and services to clients, senior management, and staff, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and guidelines.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor to work in a fast-paced environment, managing a high-volume legal workload and contributing to policy and legislation development. You will be responsible for supervising and mentoring junior staff, providing guidance on legal standards and practices, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

The role involves acting on behalf of the Department in relation to employment, WHS, and commercial matters, including:

  • Providing high-quality legal services and advice to clients, senior management, and staff.
  • Interpreting, analyzing, editing, and preparing legal documents.
  • Managing all matters within established standards, procedures, policies, and delegations.
  • Providing high-level advice and recommendations on the development and implementation of legal standards and practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Law degree and admission as a legal practitioner in an Australian jurisdiction.
  • Paid Working with Children Check.
  • Experience in employment and workplace health and safety law and familiarity with regulators and related legislation.
  • Ability to provide clear, accurate, and timely legal advice aligned with legislation and policy.
