Job Title: Marine Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced marine engineer to join our team. As a third engineer on board one of our cement carriers, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of various ship systems, including fuel and lube oil purification, boiler maintenance, and feed water control.

About the Position

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in the Bass Strait, reporting directly to the First Engineer. The successful candidate will work as part of a rotating 24-hour system, performing day-to-day tasks such as gear turn, air compressor maintenance, and heat exchange management.

  • Ensure safe operation of the main engine in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
  • Maintain the boiler in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks as directed by the First Engineer;
  • Collaborate with other crew members to ensure smooth vessel operations;
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Educational requirement: a valid certificate of competency for an Engineer Class 3, issued by AMSA;
  • Minimum 12 months relevant experience in a similar position, including at least 36 weeks of sea service on vessels with propulsion power ≥750 kilowatts;
  • Certificate of Safety Training (STCW);
  • Work Safely at Heights Certification;
  • Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification;
  • A Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC);
  • Australian citizenship or unlimited Australian working rights;
