Digital Preservation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced digital preservation specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will drive the development and implementation of our digital preservation agenda, ensuring the ongoing safety and accessibility of our digitised and born-digital records.
- The role involves developing an in-depth understanding of current and future needs for our digital collection.
- Providing high-level support for digital preservation formats, metadata, and standards.
- Managing unidentified digital formats, designing new methods for complex record management, and overseeing digital storage solutions.
- Collaborating with IT staff to test and implement effective digital storage solutions.
This is a full-time position that requires experience in managing teams and their performance, as well as proven professional network development.
A degree in information studies, archival science, or conservation science is required, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
To be eligible, applicants must be Australian citizens and obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement procedures for digital preservation.
- Provide expertise on digital preservation formats, metadata, and standards.
- Manage digital records, including identifying and addressing unknown formats.
- Collaborate with IT staff to develop and test digital storage solutions.
