The Policy and Budget Group plays a crucial role in maintaining a robust and sustainable economy by assessing financial risks and developing strategies and policies.
The Budget Reform and Projects team is dedicated to continuous improvement, working collaboratively with colleagues across the sector. This team identifies opportunities for budget reform, ensuring that policies and processes adhere to best practices and support fiscal objectives.
As an Advisor in this team, you will conduct research, analysis, and provide policy advice on public sector budget management and performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the economy and communities, fostering a collaborative environment where inquisitive and proactive individuals can thrive.

Requirements include:
- tertiary qualification or professional experience in public policy, economics, accounting, finance, law, or another related field
- demonstrated experience analysing and interpreting financial and non-financial data to identify trends or anomalies, including being proficient in excel
- strong ability to communicate policy analysis and advice (verbally and in writing)
- demonstrated ability to engage effectively with key stakeholder groups
- understanding of public sector financial management and budget management policy highly advantageous
