Your Role

As a Manager Urban Strategy, you will lead a team of professionals responsible for strategic planning and economic development. You will enjoy significant visibility and influence, requiring a leader who can balance technical expertise with political acumen and clear communication.

Responsibilities
  • You will guide our strategic planning agenda and economic development program, focusing on activity centres uplift, suburban rail loop integration, trader support, and other city-shaping initiatives.
  • You will provide trusted, influential advice to senior stakeholders, ensuring our responses to planning reforms and local priorities are evidence-based, strategically sound, and aligned with community expectations.
  • You will lead and empower a high-performing team to deliver results with clarity and process discipline, while fostering collaboration across the organisation.
  • You will drive outcomes across the organisation by combining creativity, strategic leadership, and clear communication.
Qualifications
  • You must have significant experience in urban or strategic planning, preferably within local government.
  • You must possess a strong understanding of planning reforms and land use challenges.
  • You must be able to engage with stakeholders, including councillors, government agencies, developers, and community groups.
  • You must have a strategic mindset with clear, direct communication; empathetic and empowering leadership to uplift team culture and drive collaboration.
