Policy Officer - APS 5/6

Hudson Australia is seeking an experienced Policy Officer to join our team in Canberra or Alice Springs on a short-term contract basis. As a Policy Officer, you will play a key role in assisting with policy development, research, and analysis, as well as liaising with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and Research: Assist with drafting briefing papers, policy documents, and submissions to Government, conducting research and analysis to inform policy decisions.
  • Data Analysis: Harness data to provide insights into policy issues and implementation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to respond to their needs.
APS 6 Policy Officer Responsibilities:
  • Policy Development: Support the development of policy documents and submissions.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on complex matters.
  • Data Use: Assist with planning data use and harnessing data to inform policy decisions.
  • Strategic Awareness: Maintain awareness of strategic, political, or operational outcomes for the agency.
  • Emerging Issues: Identify emerging opportunities or issues and respond quickly to competing priorities.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with key stakeholders.
