About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Vet - Surgery to join our dynamic team at Lort Smith Animal Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of advanced and routine surgeries, including soft tissue, orthopaedic, and emergency procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced and routine surgeries, including soft tissue, orthopaedic, and emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with veterinary professionals to diagnose and treat complex medical and surgical cases.
  • Maintain excellent client communication throughout the surgical process.
  • Ensure patient safety is prioritised at all times.
  • Guide and support the continuing education and professional development of the surgical staff.

About You
  • Qualifications: DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary degree with an active license to practice veterinary medicine in Victoria, Australia.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of surgical experience, including expertise in soft tissue, orthopaedic, and emergency surgeries.
  • Exceptional diagnostic and clinical skills with the ability to handle complex cases.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with veterinary professionals and support staff.
