About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Journalist/Producer to join our WIN News service, based in a regional newsroom. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of your market and report on a wide range of stories. In this environment, you will have the chance to make a real difference in news and experience truly rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and compile high-quality news stories for our weekday news bulletins.
  • Liaise with editors and camera operators to ensure our bulletins meet deadline and are of the highest standards.
  • Work closely with the State News Director to develop and implement a strong editorial strategy.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in journalism with at least two years of experience.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of compiling impactful bulletins.
  • Sound working knowledge of daily processes in a television newsroom.
  • Experience developing a strong editorial strategy and managing a culture that drives success and leadership.
  • Demonstrated superior communication and relationship-building skills, as well as a thorough understanding of media law.
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate in a team environment, contributing positively to operations and working relationships.
  • Ability to contribute ideas and demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
  • Demonstrated positive work ethic and the ability and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to take steps to solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must hold the right to work in Australia.
