Paediatric Surgeon Consultant Role Overview

This is a part time vacancy available for hrs) per week.

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Surgical Consultant to provide specialist paediatric surgical services to include the care of both inpatient and ambulatory patients within the Royal Darwin Hospital, regional hospitals and remote communities and deliver outreach services to Katherine and Gove hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality paediatric consultation to both inpatient and ambulatory patients across the Top End of Australia.
  • As a Paediatric Surgical Consultant, you will participate in the Department's 24-hr roster ensuring the proper functioning of the service.
  • Participate in continuous medial education, professional development, peer reviews, research, teaching and quality improvement activities, and provide supervision to junior medical and clinical staff.
Requirements:

To be successful, you are required to be eligible for general or specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia, hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent, and have appropriate experience and training in paediatrics. Demonstrate research capability and a commitment to delivering high-quality care to patients and a passion for rural, regional and Aboriginal healthcare is essential.
