About the Job:

The Procurement Lead plays a critical role in supporting the Collins Class Submarine Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Program and its supply chain by managing strategic procurement activities.

This project will provide the nation with submarine capability into the 2030s. Currently, it is in the detailed design phase including the procurement of long lead items and ASC is working closely with stakeholders to deliver the Navy's specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engagement with key suppliers
  • Undertake contracting and procurement activity at all levels
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies, project plans, and schedule management while proactively managing complex contracts
  • Evaluate value for money and ensure timely delivery while managing subcontractor risk

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing, or resource environment
  • In-depth knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, and contracting principles and best practices
  • Possesses project management skills to manage procurement and contract management activities within agreed timelines and budget constraints
  • Significant knowledge of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and business case development

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Eligibility for this position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
