Avionics Training Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to conduct Technical Maintenance (Avionics) Instructional activities for the Apache Helicopter Program.

This role involves vital introduction to service tasks relating to Apache maintenance training, including initial aircraft type training, DASR qualification mapping, curriculum and courseware material developmental activities and train the trainer support from acquisition into the enduring sustainment phase of the Apache Helicopter Program.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics), B2 MAML holder with a Rotary Category Aircraft Type Rating, minimum 8 years of Aviation Maintenance (B2) experience, and Avionics Aeroskills Theory Instructor, or Practical Coach/Mentor supervisory experience.

  • B2 MAML Holders with at least 8 years aviation experience
  • Understanding of Defence Aviation Maintenance Processes, Procedures and regulations
  • Supervisory experience maintaining Rotary Wing Aircraft Electrical, Avionics, Mission, COMMS, Radar, Armament and Self-Protection Systems
  • Experience in Helicopter squadron operations
  • Competent Aeroskills Instructor/Mentor including Courseware Development skills and experience

The successful candidate will conduct Avionics Maintenance Training as the B2 Customer Technical Training Specialist for the Apache Program, supporting the gap analysis for Apache Aeroskills and Type Training Qualifications into the regulatory framework.

Responsibilities include travelling internationally and domestically to support Apache training and acquisition activities, working collaboratively with our stakeholders and customers.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40116) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with maintaining Rotary Wing Aircraft Electrical, Avionics, Mission, COMMS, Radar, Armament, Mission and Self-Protection Systems
  • Previous Rotary Wing experience as an instructor/coach/mentor/supervisor
