About the Role

The Tasmania Government is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Officer to join our team in the Statewide Revenue Management department. As a Senior Finance Officer, you will play a key role in leading the development and coordination of debt management procedures and processes, including the management of debt referral.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement debt management strategies to maximize hospital revenue, particularly in relation to Medicare ineligible and compensable patients.
  • Undertake financial analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and other general accounting functions in accordance with established financial management procedures.
  • Assist in the identification of non-compliance with legislative, regulatory, and policy frameworks and contribute to the development of strategies to address this.
  • Participate in the development of a debt management monitoring and reporting framework, in consultation with system administrators and relevant managers.
  • Liaise with departmental business units and patients on debt management issues and prepare written correspondence as required.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to revenue team members on debt management policies and processes.
Requirements
  • Permanent, full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight.
  • Salary: $79,529 - $91,517 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation contribution.
  • Access to salary packaging benefits, including living expenses and meal entertainment.
  • Eligibility for pre-employment checks, including conviction checks and disciplinary action checks.
