About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Thiess Mt Arthur South. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of maintenance professionals to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our mobile maintenance fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of maintenance professionals to achieve high levels of equipment availability and reliability.
  • Manage and execute daily maintenance activities to ensure all maintenance activities are planned and carried out to a high standard, safely and timely.
  • Provide practical input into all relevant short and long-term maintenance plans.
  • Assist the Superintendent in implementing safety and productivity strategies.
  • Play an active role in all incident investigations under your control.
  • Create solutions with self-motivation to develop plans for challenges presented in the workplace.
About You

We are looking for individuals with a proven track record in leading and developing employees, driving safety, maintenance improvement, cost reduction, and equipment performance and selection. As a Field Maintenance Supervisor, you will be capable of operating unsupervised and possess excellent knowledge of mobile plant and NSW coal mining legislation.

Additionally, you will hold:

  • A mechanical trade certificate or tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering.
  • Extensive post-trade or relevant mobile maintenance experience in a mining environment.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, environment, and community.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and condition monitoring.
  • The ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant mining legislation, including NSW DII MDGs, codes of practice, and relevant Australian Standards.
