The Human Resources Branch is responsible for delivering enabling services that support the effective and efficient operation of the agency. This includes facilitating strategic communications, client engagement, and resource management through various functions such as financial management, performance reporting, parliamentary services, procurement, communications, property management, and human resource management.

The branch complements the scheme-focus of other divisions by providing business-focussed advice and support to achieve the agency's purpose. We strive to continuously improve the quality of our services and ensure that our workplace respects and meets the needs of all employees.

The section has responsibility for three distinct and important functions:

- The Human Resources function supports the attraction, retention, and development of a highly skilled, motivated, and engaged workforce.
- The Security function manages protective and physical security in accordance with government guidelines.
- The Facilities function manages our property and facilities in accordance with industry standards.

We have current and anticipated vacancies across the section at the APS Level 4 (HR Officer), APS Level 5 (HR Advisor), and APS Level 6 (Senior HR Advisor). These roles may include responsibilities such as managing complex HR enquiries, establishing stakeholder relationships, planning and problem-solving, maintaining knowledge of legislation and policy frameworks, applying sound judgement, and demonstrating strong communication skills.

The duties listed below for each level are a capture of the broad responsibilities across the team at each level. Some roles may have specific duties which will be discussed during the stage of receiving an offer of employment.

Key Responsibilities

- APS Level 4 HR Officer: Managing a range of complex HR enquiries, providing accurate and timely advice, assisting with process improvement, undertaking some reporting, developing stakeholder relationships, and maintaining skills and knowledge in HR systems.
- APS Level 5 HR Advisor: Managing complex HR enquiries, establishing stakeholder relationships, utilising strong planning and problem-solving skills, maintaining a well-developed understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks, applying sound judgement, and demonstrating strong communication skills.
- APS Level 6 Senior HR Advisor: Undertaking a leadership role, managing business-as-usual workflows and processes, undertaking projects, developing and implementing policies and processes, building capability across the broader HR section, and supervising lower-level staff.
