About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Horticultural Apprentice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and development of our parks and gardens.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the maintenance of gardens, parks, and other green spaces
- Participate in the development of new gardens and landscapes
- Operate a range of horticultural equipment and tools
- Assist in the implementation of horticultural projects and initiatives
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals
- Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
- Current unrestricted C class national driver's licence
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual tasks
- High level of attention to detail
- Self-motivated and keen to learn
- Ability to problem solve
- Be a confident communicator
- Ability to follow instructions and take direction from Team Leader/Supervisor
- A strong team player
- Basic knowledge of horticultural tools
- Reliable and hardworking
- Computer skills with the ability to operate software programs, tablets and mobile devices
- Ability to organise own work and apply time management principles
- Uniform, boots and tools provided
- Compulsory course costs are paid by the City
