Multimedia Content Specialist

About the Role

Deakin University, a Victorian institution with a global impact, is seeking a skilled Multimedia Content Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating digital content development and production for the Invergowrie STEM Hub project.

Reporting to the Senior Lecturer, Education, this role involves collaborating with a team of content writers, freelance content contributors, and academic experts to develop and curate engaging content for early childhood educators, teachers, parents, and children.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee all aspects of new content development for the STEM Hub project, ensuring delivery of STEM learning outcomes within constraints of time, cost, and quality.
• Collaborate with the team to create fresh, creative content ideas and storyboarding techniques, considering the target audience.
• Supervise and work with content writers and freelance contributors to facilitate growth and development through balanced, constructive feedback.
• Drawing on diverse resources, identify new opportunities to enhance organisational strategy.
• Plan and prioritise work, recognising barriers to achieving outcomes and finding effective solutions.
• Research, brief, write, edit, and review digital content for web, email, and landing pages, maintaining consistency in style, quality, and tone-of-voice.

Requirements

• A degree with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
• Proven work experience as a web content editor.
• An understanding of creating content for education audiences, including children, educators, and/or parents/carers.
• Editingskills with a demonstrable portfolio of published work.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems and desktop publishing software.

Salary

We offer a competitive salary package in the range of AUD 85,000 - 105,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
