The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-based backend systems. You will work closely with our product management and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and secure backend systems using modern technologies such as Go, AWS, and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Own the delivery of complex features and break down requirements into manageable tasks.
  • Articulate effort vs impact tradeoffs and make informed decisions to drive business outcomes.
  • Improve others' ability to deliver great work and drive initiatives focused on release-safety, repeatability, and improving the way we do things.
Requirements
  • Depth of knowledge in a backend coding language and associated libraries/frameworks.
  • Ability to own delivery of complex features and break down requirements into manageable tasks.
  • Ability to articulate effort vs impact tradeoffs and make informed decisions to drive business outcomes.
  • Able to improve others' ability to deliver great work and drive initiatives focused on release-safety, repeatability, and improving the way we do things.
