About the Role
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated optometrist to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a mobile optometrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality eye care services to patients in long-term care facilities and other residential settings.
Responsibilities:
- You will conduct comprehensive exams, diagnose, treat, and manage age-related ocular diseases, injuries, and disorders of the eye.
- In addition to traditional daily patient care, you will also provide vision testing and prescribe spectacle lenses as needed.
- Accurate and timely documentation is essential, so you will be responsible for completing all required patient and clinical documentation in our electronic medical record system.
- You must also adhere to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment.
Requirements:
- To be successful in this role, you will need an optometry background with proficiency in the assessment, treatment, management, and evaluation of eye conditions and disorders.
- Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals on a daily basis.
- Organizational skills are also crucial, as you will be responsible for managing your time effectively and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and other healthcare software is a must, and you should be able to learn new systems quickly.

Travel Requirements:

- O.D. degree from an accredited optometry program
- Current state professional license
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift, with occasional transportation of patients in wheelchairs
- Optometry background with proficiency in the assessment, treatment, management, and evaluation of eye conditions and disorders
