Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a permanent Staff Specialist Anatomical Pathologist located in Townsville.   • Deliver expert Anatomical Pathology services that make a difference by providing timely, efficient, and high-quality diagnostic and consultation services.
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of Anatomical Pathology by helping to design and implement strategic frameworks grounded in global best practices.
  • Supervise and support registrars, fostering their growth and ensuring the highest standards of professional development.
  • Engage actively in discipline-specific meetings, departmental discussions, and multidisciplinary team forums—building strong partnerships and ensuring alignment with client needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Contemporary knowledge, skills, and ability in Anatomical Pathology.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the position.
  • Skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary to conduct relevant training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis, and management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 15189 and NATA Medical Testing Requirements demonstrating continued accreditation in your clinical specialty.
  • Mandatory requirements are a medical qualification and tertiary qualification in Anatomical Pathology (FRCPA or equivalent) and be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Pathologist.
