Project Officer: Environment and Utilities

This is a key role in supporting the delivery of projects under our department's climate, infrastructure, and assets strategy.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement programs and projects, identifying risks and managing expectations on time within our program management framework.
  • Draft advice concerning facility services, including management and reduction of waste, electricity, and water, and reporting across all services and initiatives.
  • Manage utility contracts and vendors, including processing consolidated accounts, collating data, and seeking efficiencies while maintaining service standards.
  • Prepare reports, including briefings, correspondence, and data analysis, to communicate and evaluate performance against targets.
  • Undertake policy and legislation research and analysis to develop standards, processes, and procedures, with an emphasis on managing risk, compliance, sustainability, and cost-effective initiatives.
  • Evaluate existing business processes to identify areas for improvement, design solutions to resolve issues, and develop solutions using the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Maintain and develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay informed about emergent climate management issues.

This position requires a highly skilled professional who can provide expertise in project management and facilitate effective collaboration between teams.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to analyse complex data, and possess a strong understanding of climate management principles.
