Learning Support Teacher Job Opportunity

Ravenswood School is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Learning Support Teacher to provide educational support to classroom teachers and students from K-6.

About the Role

This is a part-time role with a 0.6 FTE load, across 4 days per week. As a Learning Support Teacher, you will work within the Learning Enrichment Department, collaborating with the team and classroom teachers to deliver evidence-informed programs and utilize a co-teaching support model of instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and deliver learning support programs, including modifications and adjustments to curriculum and assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Enrichment team and classroom teachers to deliver programs.
  • Develop Individual Learning Profiles and administer disability provisions for specified assessment tasks.
  • Communicate with parents and case-manage students identified with additional learning needs, in consultation with classroom teachers.
Requirements

To be successful in this position, you will have demonstrated knowledge and skills in learning support encompassing:

  • Understanding of student learner variability and how to meet the individual needs of students with learning differences and disabilities.
  • Knowledge of current research and best practices in teaching neurodiverse learners and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
  • Understanding of legal obligations to support students' access to learning programs on the same basis as other students.
Qualifications

A post-graduate qualification in Inclusive Education or Special Education is essential. Strongly desirable but not essential: Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
