We are seeking an organised and customer-focused Professional to oversee the day-to-day operations of our local family-owned practice as a Part-time Practice Administrator / Receptionist.
About the RoleThis is a part-time position working three days per week, ideally Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. As the Practice Administrator, you will be the backbone of our operations, ensuring both practitioners and patients receive the best possible support.
Key Responsibilities- Be the first point of contact for patients, delivering warm and professional assistance
- Handle appointment scheduling, including room allocation and availability
- Manage Medicare and HICAPS transactions with attention to detail
- Maintain clear and effective communication
- Oversee daily operations, including correspondence, record-keeping, couriers and supplies
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and approachable. The ideal candidate will have:
- A willingness to adapt to the needs of a small, family-run practice
- A commitment to delivering outstanding patient experiences
- The ability to manage schedules and prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in medical reception, healthcare administration, or a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in practice management software and payment systems (e.g., Medicare and HICAPS) is a bonus
