We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Advisor to join our team at ALS. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a crucial role in upholding our core principle: We are Safe.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to management and staff to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Consult, advise, and enforce site safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Undertake HSE inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents, identify causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Support managers and employees with injury prevention and management, including conducting and coordinating HSE training.
- Manage and develop risk assessments to ensure a proactive approach to safety.
- Monitor and record hazard observations, near misses, and injuries to identify trends and implement improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with safety and industry best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Review and update the local safety system to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Formal qualifications (Cert IV minimum) and previous experience in HSE.
- Confidence in your knowledge and ability to build rapport and trust at all levels of the organization.
- Passion, enthusiasm, and goal-driven approach to safety.
- Experience in incident investigations, risk assessments, and auditing.
- Organized, level-headed, and common-sense approach to problem-solving.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in email, MS Word, and Excel.
- Strong computer and numeracy skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members and management.
- Working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment legislation and standards.
