Cancer Researcher and Scientist Opportunity

The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cancer Researcher and Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our Biomaterials Laboratory, you will contribute to the development of cancer-on-chip models for drug screening and immune-phenotyping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop tumor-on-chip models using cell lines, primary cells, or patient samples.
  • Optimize culturing conditions and characterize the tumor-on-chip model.
  • Validate tumor-on-chip models using in vitro assays or clinical data and evaluate drugs using the developed model.
  • Collaborate with internal and external researchers.
  • Publish research papers in top-tier journals.
  • Lead a research team and supervise honours and postgraduate students.

Requirements:

  • High-level knowledge of cancer immunology and biology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cancer biology, tumor microenvironment, 3D imaging, flow cytometry, cell culture optimization, co-culture experimentation, immune cell population characterization, and cell growth and proliferation studies.
  • Demonstrated experience in in vivo animal studies and drug evaluation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills through conference presentations and publications.
  • Ability to contribute to the research program, designing experiments, analyzing data, and presenting data for publication or oral presentation.
