About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Aboriginal Boarding Supervisor to join our team at Albany Residential College. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students, particularly those from Aboriginal backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision and care to students in a residential setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Initiate, plan, and lead a wide range of leisure activities for secondary students, promoting their physical and emotional development.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, communicating effectively and providing support as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to create a positive and inclusive boarding environment, respecting and valuing diversity within the student population.
Requirements
  • Be of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background, as this is considered an essential requirement for the position.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Community Services - Student Residential Care (CHC42021) or be willing to obtain it within six months of commencement.
  • Have a valid Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a National Criminal History Check.
  • Be available to work a range of shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
