About the Role

The Central-West Orana project is seeking dedicated civil engineers to join our substation team. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, construction, and quality assurance, to ensure that all civil aspects of the project are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review civil engineering designs and calculations for substation foundations, gantries, and associated structures.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Monitor subcontractors' performance and ensure the quality and standard of workmanship is in accordance with the specifications.
  • Communicate program updates to subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff to maintain commitment.
  • Assist in managing cost control for certain aspects of the project to ensure it meets its performance targets.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor site personnel to foster positive team dynamics, staff morale, and work outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, reports, and as-built records.
  • Prepare project schedules, budgets, and resource plans specific to civil works.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in foundations, ideally in substations.
  • Problem-solving / analytical skills.
  • Geotechnical interpretation skills.
  • Able to ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied.
  • Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated experience collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups.
