Job Overview
This role supports operational planning, control, and coordination functions on Jemena's Electricity Distribution Networks & Assets. The HV Operations Planner is responsible for providing network access planning functions on sub-transmission and distribution electrical assets, involving communication across the business, allocation of operational resources, and preparation of switching instructions within set timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure planned outages are managed effectively to minimize customer disruption.
- Act as the key point of contact for HV customers.
- Maintain accurate and timely data within Control Room IT&OT tools.
- Maintain necessary competencies for the position.
- Deliver training and mentorship to colleagues.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of planning processes/procedures and contribute to their revision.
- Provide technical and commercial insights for strategic project planning and change management initiatives.
About the Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and demonstrate a high level of concentration when dealing with non-routine problems. Given the complexity of the distribution system and diverse switching configurations, the ideal candidate will bring sound judgment, keen perception, and practical common sense to effectively tackle intricate issues as they arise. It is essential that you excel in creative thinking, thrive under pressure, adapt easily to new technology in both field and Control Room settings, and possess expertise in operating electrical distribution networks while understanding related procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on network access for maintenance and construction activities.
- Involvement in program preparation for commissioning major system elements and review of system design proposals.
- Maintenance of the HV customer database according to Control Room standards.
- Understanding and expertise in electrical distribution network elements, including construction, maintenance, and testing activities.
- A diploma in ESI – Power Systems or relevant experience in network operations.
