In this exciting opportunity, you will have the chance to transition from General Nursing to Mental Health Nursing with the support of Alfred Health's Switch program.

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will gain valuable experience and develop essential skills in risk assessment, mental state assessment, care planning, and knowledge of Mental Health nursing care and practice.

This introductory role in mental health is designed to equip you with the necessary training and expertise to excel in this new field. With a dedicated Clinical Educator supporting you every step of the way, you will be well-prepared to take on the challenges and rewards of Mental Health Nursing.

About the Role

This position is based at Alfred Mental & Addiction Health, where you will work in either the Adult or Aged Mental Health services and/or Community Care Units. You will be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team environment, working collaboratively with consumers, carers, family members, and other professionals.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be consumer-focused, a team player, motivated, and enthusiastic. You will also have the ability and flexibility to work on a rotating shift work roster.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of Mental Health Nursing knowledge and skills.
  • To participate in the Switch program, gaining experience and training in Mental Health Nursing.
  • To work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with consumers, carers, and other professionals.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Australian working rights (Visa holders, please ensure you meet the requirements).
  • Full Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination.
  • Willingness to undergo a Background Check.
Salary and Benefits
