Mechanical Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support our Swan Hill processing facility. The role involves technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade support for mechanical systems essential to production.

About the Role:

  1. Preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  2. Troubleshooting breakdowns and ensuring minimal downtime
  3. Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment
  4. Supporting engineering and production teams
  5. Maintaining logs and adhering to safety procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform regular maintenance checks on machinery and equipment
  2. Identify and rectify faults in mechanical systems
  3. Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve issues
  4. Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently

Requirements:

  1. Certificate III or IV in Engineering or relevant mechanical trade qualification
  2. Experience in manufacturing or food processing environments
  3. Strong mechanical/electrical fault-finding skills
  4. Knowledge of WHS standards and preventative maintenance protocols
