Pharmacy Technician Job Description

Mater Hospital Pharmacy has an exciting opportunity for a professional Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a permanent or fixed-term position working in either a full-time or part-time capacity.

As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and high-quality pharmacy service to optimise outcomes for all patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pharmacists in delivering pharmacy services that meet customer expectations.
  • Work in various roles including central dispensary, clinical support, and inventory management.
  • Deliver consistently high levels of pharmacy service to all clinical areas.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels in the pharmacy and in clinical area imprest sites across the Mater campus.
  • Cold chain management of refrigerated and frozen medications.
  • Provide responsive customer-focused service.

Requirements:

  • Completed relevant qualifications such as Certificate II or III in Hospital/Community Pharmacy (or equivalent).
  • A professional attitude, effective communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Passion for customer service and appreciation of the importance of delivering exceptional service every time.
  • Professional, hardworking attitude, and willingness to work cooperatively and effectively with all team members.
  • Previous relevant work experience is highly desirable.
  • The flexibility to work additional shifts, including some weekends, public holidays is desirable.
