Our company is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to fill the role of Cold Storage Warehouse Supervisor.

This position involves working in a cold storage facility, maintaining the storage and handling of temperature-sensitive goods. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the cold store warehouse.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate organization of stock, reporting of maintenance problems, internal control procedures, and workplace health and safety concerns. They will also provide guidance and support to their team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring workplace health and safety requirements are being met and reporting any areas of concern
  • Receiving, inspecting, and recording all incoming temperature-sensitive goods
  • Properly storing and organizing products in the cold storage facility
  • Reporting KPIs and financials on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with external stakeholders
  • Operating, maintaining, and registering refrigeration and cooling systems
  • Having proficient knowledge of inventory and conducting regular inventory checks
  • FOLLOWING proper handling and storage procedures to prevent damage or spoilage of goods
  • Collaborating with team members to fulfill customer orders and meet deadlines
  • Reporting any equipment malfunctions, inventory discrepancies, or safety concerns to supervisors
  • Assisting in the implementation of process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency
  • Ensuring the warehouse complies with HACCP and SQF accreditation

Requirements for this role include:

Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills to effectively oversee a team of cold storage staff
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address operational challenges and optimize cold storage processes
  • Able to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cold storage operations

Education and Experience:

We require qualifications in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Proven experience in cold storage management or a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred.

Flexibility to work in different shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as cold storage operations often require 24/7 coverage.
