About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Horticulturalist to join our team in maintaining turf and garden areas within Queens Park. This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors, utilizing your skills in horticulture to deliver exceptional results.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining turf areas and gardens in Queens Park, including minor landscape construction works.
  • Assisting with daily routines in the Ipswich Nature Centre.
  • Identifying and treating diseases in turf and garden plants.
  • Identifying and treating weeds.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who possess a passion for horticulture and are eager to contribute to the maintenance of our beautiful parks.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Immunisation against Q Fever and Rabies.
  • FIT Testing for respiratory protection equipment: workers must pass a respirator fit test before they first start wearing a tight-fitting respirator and at regular intervals during their employment. Workers must be clean shaven or only have facial hair that doesn't interfere with the fitting surfaces and the valve of the respirator.
  • A current LR Licence would be an advantage.
  • A Level 3 Certificate in Horticulture or related field would be an advantage.

A pre-employment medical will be required for this role (including drug and alcohol testing).
