Leadership Opportunity
  • The Substance Use Treatment Manager delivers clinical leadership and expertise to staff providing public healthcare services for individuals experiencing concerns associated with substance use.
  • They maintain collaborative treatment and care practices with individuals accessing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) treatment via programs.
  • This involves supporting clinical screening, assessment, and identification of psychosocial needs, psychoeducation, therapeutic and group-based interventions, advocacy, and facilitation of onwards referrals where required.

Substance Use Treatment Managers are responsible for providing clinical expertise, contributing to policy and service development, collection and management of service data, and supporting professional development in consultation with senior clinicians/professionals.

They also engage in regular liaison and collaborative work with other program areas, government, and non-government services in the ATOD, mental health, and justice-associated sectors, and external stakeholders.

Staff are required and supported to undertake professional development, engage in clinical supervision, participate in quality improvement and service development initiatives, and contribute to multidisciplinary team processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver clinical leadership and expertise to staff.
  2. Maintain collaborative treatment and care practices with individuals accessing ATOD treatment.
  3. Support clinical screening, assessment, and identification of psychosocial needs.
  4. Contribute to policy and service development, collection, and management of service data.
  5. Support professional development in consultation with senior clinicians/professionals.
  6. Engage in regular liaison and collaborative work with other program areas and external stakeholders.
