About the Role

This role is a key opportunity to drive innovation, stability, and impact in our DevOps function. You will engineer, automate, and optimise scalable AWS infrastructure for high availability, security, and performance.

Key responsibilities include championing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to create repeatable, reliable environments. Additionally, you will own and improve CI/CD pipelines for rapid, automated build, test, and deployment workflows.

You will lead cloud cost optimisation efforts, ensuring platforms are efficient, right-sized, and delivering maximum value. Your expertise will be sought by development teams on new services covering cost, security, back-ups, and monitoring considerations.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' AWS cloud engineering and automation experience, with strong UNIX/Linux administration skills (RHEL focus) and experience scripting and automating using Python/Bash.

A strong understanding of AWS services (IAM, RDS, EC2, ECS, EFS, SES, SNS, Cognito) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is essential, along with certifications to demonstrate expertise.

The successful applicant will be passionate about automation, CI/CD, and bridging development and operations. They will bring a strong eye for cost efficiency and cloud spend optimisation, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively engage with technical and non-technical audiences.
