Fortescue is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent Resource Definition to lead our drilling operations at the Eliwana project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing effective onsite leadership and management of the Eliwana Resource Definition teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and develop a strong and capable site team with a focus on safety, coaching, and development.
- Manage contracts with a high focus on safety and team well-being.
- Understand mine plans and ensure adherence to the mine plan-directed drilling sequence.
- Extend the life of the mine by developing new areas through near-mine exploration and opportunistic drilling.
- Ensure monthly and quarterly assessments are completed and fed into the wider team for budgets, fleet planning, and scheduling.
- Develop annual drilling plans for Resource Definition and maintain compliance to plans.
- Focus on systems implementation, standardization, and improved data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance drilling operations and team performance, delivering value and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Geology.
- Experienced people leader with experience leading a diverse team, with a sound understanding of drilling, contract management, and geology.
- A passion for developing others through coaching, mentoring, rewarding, and guiding.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated capability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders.
- Experience in supervising and planning drilling operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- A good understanding of industry-standard HSE systems.
