Winter Service Duty Officer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Winter Service Duty Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collection and Management of Weather Data
  • Maintenance of Salt Stock Levels and Storage Facilities
  • Achievement of Response Times for Precautionary Treatment, Patrols, and Snow Clearance
  • Utilization of the Road Weather Information System (RWIS), Weather Forecasting Service, and Weather Radar System
  • Training of Staff & Operatives
  • Preparation and Updating of Rotas for Duty Staff, Maintenance of Electronic Records and Manual Records
  • Provision of an Annual Winter Service Report
  • Liaison with Third Parties
  • Communication with Transport Scotland during Severe Weather Events
  • Participation in Conference Calls with Transport Scotland as Required
  • Implementation of Additional Resources when Required
  • Ensuring Completion of Daily Action Plans and Uploading to Vaisala Manager
Requirements:
  • IHE Winter Decision Makers – Desired but can be Obtained in Year 1
  • SIA Public Space CCTV – Desired but can be Obtained in Year 1
  • Proficient in IT – Essential
  • Good Communication Skills – Essential
  • Ability to Multitask – Essential
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure
